For implementation customers

Giving us access to your Shopify store

We use Shopify's collaborator access, the standard way store owners give access to a designer or developer. It doesn't use one of your staff seats, you choose exactly what we can touch, and you can remove it in one click. We never see your password, and we can't see payouts or billing.

Step 1: send us your collaborator request code (2 minutes)

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings (bottom left) → Users → the Security tab (label may vary; older admins show this under Settings → Users and permissions → Collaborators).
  2. Under Collaborators, find your collaborator request code: a 4-digit number. If the setting says "Anyone can send a collaborator request", there's no code and you can skip this.
  3. Reply to our email with the code and your store's .myshopify.com address (shown under Settings → Domains, or in your admin's address bar).

Step 2: approve our request

We send a request asking only for what your fixes need:

PermissionWhy
ThemesTo duplicate your theme and make the changes on the copy
Pages, NavigationFooter and contact details, menus, the shipping or returns page
ProductsOnly if your fixes include descriptions, titles, alt text, tags or meta descriptions
PreferencesOnly if a fix includes your home page title or meta description
Apps (manage)Only if a fix includes consolidating review apps or changing popup timing

You'll get an email and a notice in your admin. Go to Settings → Users, open the pending collaborator request, check the permissions (you can untick any), and click Accept (label may vary). That's it.

We never install paid apps or change your checkout, payments or shipping rates. If a fix needs a new app, we ask first and you approve the cost in writing.

Step 3, when we're done: remove our access

Settings → Users → click our collaborator account → Remove collaborator (label may vary). Your theme and changes stay; only our access goes. We'll remind you in the handoff email.

Prefer a staff account?

You can add us as staff instead: Settings → Users → Add users, with the same permissions. Staff accounts count toward your plan's limit (check yours under Settings → Plan), which is why collaborator access is usually the better choice. Remove the staff account the same way when we're done.

Questions

Can you see my customers' payment details? No. Shopify never shows card details to anyone, including you.

Can you publish changes without me? We work on a copy of your theme. You publish it, or tell us in writing to.

What if something looks wrong after publishing? Your previous theme stays in your theme library. Publishing it again undoes everything in about a minute, and we do that first if anything breaks.
